இன்ஃபென்ட் ஜீசஸ் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் சுரேஷ், மாணவர்கள் பிச்சைக்கண்ணன், டேனிஷ், பிரபாகரன் ஆகியோரால் வெட்டிக் கொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்.
திருநெல்வேலி, கீழவல்லநாடு பகுதியில் இயங்கிவரும் இன்ஃபென்ட் ஜீசஸ் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி முதல்வர் சுரேஷ், அந்த கல்லூரியைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் பிச்சைக்கண்ணன், டேனிஷ், பிரபாகரன் ஆகியோரால் கடந்த அக்டோபர் 10-ம் தேதி கல்லூரி வளாகத்திலேயே வெட்டிக் கொல்லப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்.

“பேனா பிடிக்க வேண்டிய வயதில் கத்தியைப் பிடித்த மாணவர்கள்”, “படிக்கின்ற வயதில் பாதை மாறிய மாணவர்களின் வெறிச்செயல்”, “”மாணவர்களின் ரவுடி அவதாரம்”, “தவறான நடத்தையால் சஸ்பென்ட் ஆன மாணவர்கள் வெட்டி சரித்த கோரம்” என ஊடகங்கள் கவலைப்படுகின்ற்ன. தங்களுக்கு பாதுகாப்பு வேண்டுமென்று ஊர்வலம் போகின்றனர் பேராசிரியர் பெருமக்களும் கல்லூரி முதல்வர்களும்.

“பாளையங்கோட்டை சிறைச் சாலையை விடக் கொடுமையானது எங்களின் கல்லூரி வாழ்க்கை” என்று புலம்பும் பொறியியல் கல்லூரி மாணவனின் குரலுக்கு நீங்கள் என்றைக்காவது செவி மடுத்திருக்கிறீர்களா? செம்மறியாட்டுக் கூட்டம் போல, வீட்டுக்கும் கல்லூரிக்கும் அன்றாடம் மேய்ச்சலுக்கு ஓட்டிப் போகப்படும் அந்த மாணவர்களை இடைமறித்து விசாரித்துப் பாருங்கள். தனியார் பொறியியல் கல்லூரிகளின் “ஸ்ட்ரிக்ட்” என்பதற்கான பொருள் விளங்கும்.

TUTICORIN: In one of the most brutal incidents of campus violence, the principal of an engineering college was hacked to death by three students in the campus at Vallanadu in Tuticorin district on Thursday morning.
The principal, LRD Suresh (53) of Infant Jesus College of Engineering and Technology sustained multiple cut injuries and was rushed to a government hospital but was pronounced dead.
The three students, who had managed to escape from the campus, were climbing a hillock nearby when police, with the help of other students, managed to nab them.
The three were identified as P Pichaikannan (21), a fourth year Aeronautical Engineering student from Nazareth, G Dannis (22), studying fourth year B Tech and M Prabakaran (21) from Nagapattinam studying third year BE Civil Engineering.
Police said Suresh had entered the campus at Kamaraj Nagar in Keela Vallanadu around 8.30am and was walking towards his office room, when the three students, who were waiting for him, surrounded him and attacked him with sickles. Suresh sustained multiple injuries and collapsed in a pool of blood. Students and faculty of the college took him to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Later, the body was shifted to the government hospital for postmortem examination. The murder spread shock and panic across the college campus and students and faculty gathered in large numbers at the government hospital in Tirunelveli where the principal's body was kept.
Police said that one of the students was suspended two days back by the principal and that could be the motive for the murder. "Pichaikannan was suspended two days back. We suspect that the suspension and humiliation was the motive for the murder. Dannis and Prabakaran were friends of Pichaikannan and so they joined him in the attack,'' a police officer investigating the case said.
Narrating the sequence of incidents that led to the murder, a police officer said a few days back, two other students of the college identified as Muthselvan Moses and Adithan from Tuticorin had a disagreement and got into a scuffle. Pichaikannan intervened and artbitrated in the issue. When the college authorities learnt about the clash and the "katta panchayat (kangaroo court)'' settling the issue, they suspended Pichaikannan as well as Muthuselvan and Adithan. The suspension infuriated Pichaikannan, who conspired with his friends Dannis and Prabakaran, police said.

In a shocking incident, three students of the Infant Jesus Engineering College at Vallanadu in Thoothukudi district chased and hacked their principal to death on the college campus on Thursday morning.Police said that Pichaikannan (21) of Nazareth in Thoothukudi district and a final year Aeronautical Engineering student of the college, was suspended by the principal LRD Suresh after the former was involved in a fight with two of his classmates, Muthuselvam and Adhithan, over sharing of seats in a government bus, in which they travel regularly to Thoothukudi after college hours. The other two were also suspended along with Pichaikannan. The principal had also warned that the youth would not be issued the course completion certificate.Irked over the suspension and subsequent warning, Pichaikannan conspired with his two former roommates Prabaharan, a native of Nagapattinam, who was studying third year Civil Engineering and Danish, a Sri Lankan refugee from Okkur camp in Sivaganga district and a final year Information and Technology Engineering student, to murder Principal Suresh.As per their plan, Pichaikannan sent Prabaharan and Danish with weapons to the college campus on Thursday morning. The duo was waiting in the car parking area on the campus since 8 am. Pichaikannan arrived in a government bus to the college from Palayamkottai to escape a security check, police said.After reaching the college, he joined the duo at the car parking lot. When Suresh arrived in his car around 8.30 am, they picked up a quarrel and told him that they had come to murder him.Suresh, who did not take their threat seriously, replied that they can murder him. Immediately, Pichaikannan, Prabaharan and Danish hacked him.Shocked by the unexpected attack, Suresh tried to flee the spot. But the trio chased and hacked him again.Though staff members present in the college rushed Suresh, who suffered serious injuries, to the Palayamkottai GH, he succumbed 20 minutes after admission at the hospital.Though the trio attempted to escape after the attack, the college bus driver with the help of forest guards caught them after a chase inside the forest area located adjacent to the institution. A police officer said that the trio were in an inebriated condition at the time of the murder.Thoothukudi District Superintendent of Police M Durai and Rural Deputy SP B Narayanan examined the spot and interrogated the trio at Pudukottai police station.The college administration declared a holiday on Thursday and also asked the students to vacate the hostel.Thoothukudi police have arrested Pichaikannan (21), Prabaharan (21) and Danish (21). Further investigations are on.Vaiko CondemnsMDMK chief Vaiko has expressed shock over the incident and issued an appeal to the student community in the State against resorting to violence.“In recent times, an alarming scenario has arisen where some students are clashing on campus with deadly weapons,” Vaiko said, blaming some films and alcohol for the rise of violence. He condemned the incident and called for stringent action against the killers.

In a ghastly incident on Thursday morning, the principal of a private engineering college in Tuticorin district in southern Tamil Nadu was murdered by three students on the campus, apparently as an act of revenge against the suspension of one of them, police said.
L.R.D. Suresh, 45, principal of Infant Jesus College of Engineering, Keezha Vallanad in Tuticorin district, was fatally attacked with long knives as soon as he got out of his car. The suspension of P. Pitchaikannan (21), a final year Aeronautical Engineering student, for his behaviour on and off the college campus, allegedly provoked him to murder the principal, police sources said.
While Pitchaikannan, the prime accused, stabbed the principal in his stomach, his room-mates, G. Danish (21), final year B.Tech. (Information Technology) and M. Prabhakaran (21), third year (Civil Engineering), said to be his room-mates, caused a grievous bleeding injury on his head, the police said. Besides arresting the trio, the police seized the weapons used in the killing.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Pitchaikannan was suspended for five days on Monday following an alleged attack on Athithan, a final year student, over occupying a seat in a bus on October 5. Athithan was attacked on the college premises and outside the campus recently. Pitchaikannan was also irregular in attending classes and laboratory work.
Agitated by the disciplinary measure, Pitchaikannan and his room-mates attacked Dr. Suresh at 8.20 a.m. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Three students of a private engineering college in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, were arrested for allegedly murdering their principal in the college campus on Thursday morning. The principal had earlier suspended the trio for indiscipline.
According to the police, the three accused, P Pitchaikannan (21), G Dannis (22), and M Prabhakaran (21), all studying at Infant Jesus College of Engineering in Tuticorin, were suspended by the principal L R D Suresh last Monday.
"They had tried apologising to the principal, but he threatened to dismiss them. It is then that the trio decided to retaliate," said district superintendent of police M Durai.
The trio lay in wait near the college campus on Thursday morning. Suresh drove into the parking area at 8.45 am.
As soon as he got off his car, the accused attacked him with a machete and two knives. Suresh had 12 cuts and four stab injuries on his chest, shoulder and stomach.
Suresh collapsed and was rushed to Palayamkottai medical college hospital in Tirunelveli where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
The trio, meanwhile, tried escaping immediately after the incident. However, eyewitnesses comprising students and staff informed the police, who nabbed them.
"The clothes of the accused had bloodstains. They confessed to the crime and we are investigating the motive," added Durai.
During investigation, the cops found that there was a quarrel between students of the automobile engineering and aeronautical engineering departments over reserving seats in the college bus in which they travel.
"Pitchaikannan was suspended because of the incident. Dannis and Prabhakaran were suspended earlier in an unrelated incident. We're still investigating other motives," Durai added.
'Management at fault too'
Meanwhile, a police source said the students had a slew of grievances against the college management. "They said the college management was being dictatorial and did not allow the students to interact and sort out the issues. Had the management not intervened, the incident may have never happened," said the source.
